Violent Storm System Unleashes Tornadoes in Illinois, Wreaking Havoc on Homes
A powerful storm system swept through the Plains and Upper Midwest on Wednesday, triggering multiple Tornado Warnings and bringing intense thunderstorms to communities south of Chicago. As the storm intensified, cities including Peoria, Indianapolis, Chicago, Decatur, and Champaign were all under severe weather alerts.
This event came just after the severe weather outbreak of March 14-16, which spawned 2 EF4 tornadoes in Arkansas and Mississippi and damaging thunderstorm winds from the South to the Midwest and East. In this multi-day severe weather outbreak, multiple tornadoes and hail activity were reported from across 14 states.
