Widespread Flooding Swamps Kansas, Missouri, and Texas
Severe storms and flooding swept across the Midwest and parts of the Southern US, bringing severe weather that included torrential rainfall in Dallas, and flash flooding in Kansas and in parts of Texas, making rising floodwaters a topic of concern.
The widespread severe weather impacted states from Texas to Kansas and Missouri. Kansas City recorded 2.46 inches of rain on Tuesday. Approximately 18 million people across the region were under flash flood warnings as conditions deteriorated on Wednesday.
A non-tropical low-pressure system is forecast to deliver heavier rainfall to the southeastern US by Thursday. Portions of South Carolina and North Carolina are expected to face potential flash flooding through the end of the week as the system moves across the coast.
