Typhoon Noru Hits the Philippines on Sunday, Heads to Vietnam
On Sunday, Typhoon Noru made landfall in the Philippines and is currently en route to Vietnam. It has led to landslides, floods, and significant damage to land and property.
Between Saturday and Sunday, the typhoon, locally known as Typhoon Karding, quickly strengthened from a Category 1 hurricane to a Category 5 hurricane. It had a peak speed of about 160 mph during its landfall as a super typhoon.
It impacted the main island of Luzon on Sunday before changing into a Category 2-equivalent typhoon on Monday. However, as it approaches Vietnam, the storm will intensify once again.
