Tropical Storm Victor Forms in the Atlantic, Pose No Threat to Land.
Tropical Storm Victor forms in the eastern Atlantic on Wednesday afternoon – becoming the 20th named storm of 2021 Atlantic hurricane season. Earlier a tropical depression twenty, tropical storm Victor is expected to gain strength over the next few days. However, it will remain in open waters and have no threat on land.
Victor is currently tracking 550 miles south-southwest from the Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 45mph.
As per the NHC, Victor will continue to track northwest and further strengthen into a hurricane over the next few days. There are no watches or warnings in effect as the storm is not expected to impact land during its course.
The formation of tropical storm Victor came as Hurricane Sam, which formed last week, continues to track slowly across the Atlantic, with maximum sustained winds of 130mph.
