A violent storm system produced at least 11 tornado reports on Wednesday. Five people have been killed in Bollinger County, Missouri, and the storm system could produce additional tornadoes.
A preliminary report from the National Weather Service (NWS) indicates that an EF-2 hit Missouri’s Bollinger County on Wednesday. At least 87 structures were damaged, while 12 were completely destroyed.
The same storm system, also battered parts of Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan early this week.

Another powerful storm system is aiming at a population of over 45 million people from Texas to Michigan with a severe weather threat on Tuesday. Thunderstorms could bring strong tornadoes, large hail, and damaging wind gusts across the lower Missouri Valley into parts of the Upper Midwest and across parts of the southeastern Great Plains into areas of the Mid-South.
In southern Missouri, northwestern Arkansas, and southeastern Oklahoma, dangerous tornadoes and damaging winds are expected overnight. More than 3 million people are under a moderate risk for severe storms in areas including Springfield, Missouri, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Over the weekend, approximately 50 tornadoes touched down across several states, tearing apart multiple properties.
