Cyclone Ilsa is intensifying into a Category 4 storm and heading towards Western Australia. It is expected to make landfall on Thursday and could cause substantial property damage as well as extensive power cuts.
Cyclone Ilsa is presently a Category 3 storm with wind gusts of up to 165km/h and is situated around 370km northwest of Broome. Nevertheless, by the time it reaches landfall between Broome and Port Hedland, it is predicted to have strengthened into a Category 4 storm, with gusts of up to 270km/h.
