EF2 Tornado Shreds Buildings as it Tears Through Mackville, Kentucky

A powerful tornado tore through areas near Mackville, Kentucky, early Friday, destroying multiple structures roughly 50 miles southeast of Louisville. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville, the damage was consistent with an EF2 tornado. The twister caused widespread destruction across the county, leaving buildings in ruins and impacting communities southwest of Lexington. 

Meanwhile, severe storms swept across parts of the eastern U.S. on Friday, bringing destructive winds that uprooted trees, downed power lines, and damaged structures in Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia. The storms prompted more than 110 reports of wind-related damage from Florida to Maryland.
