Garnet Fire Scorches 57,000 Acres in California’s Sierra National Forest
The Garnet Fire, ignited by lightning on August 24, 2025, continues to burn in California’s Sierra National Forest, scorching an estimated 57,004 acres with containment around 15%. Crews have taken advantage of elevated humidity and favorable weather overnight, strengthening containment lines along the northern, western, and eastern flanks of the fire, according to the Sierra National Forest.
As of the latest reports and updates, no confirmed structure losses or destroyed homes have been officially announced. Besides the Garnet Fire, several other wildfires remain active across California.
