Major Storm Causes Extensive Flooding in California, More Rainfall Expected
The massive storm still hammering California has already forced thousands of people to evacuate. Extensive flooding has affected roads, carried away cars, and caused significant damage. Some stretches of the Pacific Coast Highway are closed due to the presence of floodwater.
Within the last 24 hours, 2 to 7 inches of rain has fallen in hilly areas and up to 10 inches in the mountains. Montecito received an astounding 9.89 inches, Fillmore 6.24 inches, and Santa Barbara 6.13 inches.
This extensive flooding in California is anticipated to worsen with Tuesday’s rainfall. As the storm moves south, there is an increased likelihood of mudslides and flooding in the Los Angeles and Ventura County regions.
