Mississippi Tornadoes and Hail: Severe Weather Impact Likely, November 2022

Parts of Mississippi Valley are likely to experience a regional tornado outbreak on Tuesday, according to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). An early forecast warning of a “significant severe-weather event” has been issued by the SPC.

The Mississippi storm system is expected to produce severe thunderstorms capable of tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. The SPC has also issued a level 3 out of 5 enhanced risks for severe thunderstorms across various regions including Memphis.  

Over 25 million residents from eastern Texas to southern Indiana could be impacted by the larger severe storm threat.
