Dozens of Tornadoes Strike Oklahoma and Texas, Damaging Homes and Buildings
On November 4, tornadoes struck parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, damaging hundreds of homes and buildings and causing power outages for thousands of residents. Although seventeen tornadoes were reported, the number is likely to increase.
Tornadoes severely impacted McCurtain, Bryan, Choctaw, and Le Flore counties in Oklahoma. A church, a hospital, and a school were all destroyed in the town of Idabel. More than 50 homes in Lamar County, Texas were also damaged.
Approximately 24 people have been injured and one killed by these tornadoes. Tornado warnings and rescue operations are in effect for Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
