Assam flood 2022 Wrecking a Havoc on Land and Property
Assam, a state vulnerable to flooding and erosion, has reported flooding over the previous five days in over 28 districts, causing landslides as a result.
Several rivers have suddenly gotten flooded. As of June 17, eight rivers were flowing above the high flood stage, while three others were going above the danger point. Landslides have also been noted in recent days in Dima-Hasao, Goalpara, Morigaon, Kamrup, and Kamrup (M).
Over 100,000 of the 1.9 million residents affected by flood disasters are taking refuge in 373 relief camps, which are located in 96 Revenue Circles and 2,930 villages.
Around 700 local residents are impacted by the flooding and are in need of dry rations and potable water.
