Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes South of Nicaragua

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Nicaragua on Tuesday at 12:25 a.m. local time.

The depth of the quake was around 22 miles (35 kilometers). The epicenter of the quake was located offshore South of Masachapa and a few miles further South of the municipality of San Rafael del Sur. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties and no tsunami warning was issued.
